About Us |
| MyTherapySession.com was founded by Dr. Brent Coyle, as a result of the frustration he felt as a psychiatrist regarding the many problems and limits he observed over several years in the provision of health care services, especially in the emotional, psychological and social realms. MyTherapySession, Inc. is a company founded on the importance of finding partnership, as well as technical solutions to these limitations. The company has been conceived and developed by medical professionals who understand and are experienced in providing acute care services to those in greatest need. It provides a balanced medical, psychological, social (and optionally spiritual) approach to social problems. Dr. Coyle personally believes that the only way we, as a society, are going to make a significant impact on healing the world is through education and partnership. MyTherapySession.com is dedicated to finding ways for professionals to provide expertise and structure for solving life's challenges through getting people to talk to and help each other. Through these means, individuals might have inexpensive, as well as global and immediate access to information and structure to deal with various overwhelming psychological problems. |

| Dr. Brent Coyle is a practicing board-certified adult psychiatrist with over 20 years of clinical experience. He is a graduate of Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota, and the University of Minnesota Medical School. He completed his psychiatry residency as an active duty Air Force Officer at Wilford Hall Medical Center. Dr. Coyle served as a training director for a psychiatry residency program, has received numerous teaching awards, maintains a clinical faculty role and has served as an examiner for the Psychiatry Boards. He received grant funding for various projects including a Templeton Award for the education integration of spirituality in psychiatric care. Interested parties may review "Dr. Coyle's "Universal Spiritual Truths for Living" that grew out of the grant and are a moral foundation for the site and educational videos*. Dr. Coyle, and his wife, a clinical psychologist, have been married for more than 20 years and have three daughters. He is committed to improving quality, access and economy of emotional health care through psycho-education. |
* Most of Dr. Coyle's videos are what he calls "Optionally Spiritually Inclusive". This is explained further in his background video but this is a concept that has grown out of his research and Templeton grant involvement. Since he has statistically found that over 50% of highly distressed individuals would like to have a spiritual component to emotional health information, he has chosen to add that component, using the "Universal Spiritual Truths for Living" guidelines at a clearly delineated point at the end of the presentation, thus including it only for those who would like to have it available, but also respecting other individuals who may wish to stop the presentation after the secular portion. |
